Feature: Results Customization (Curation)
The Curation feature is used for manually influencing fulltext search results in an e-shop. It allows you to:
- Promote specific products to the top positions of results
- Hide products that would otherwise appear but the merchant doesn't want them in the results
This helps increase conversion and improve user experience for keywords like "paint", "penetration", "toilet paper", etc.
How It Works
1. Creating a Curation
A curation is a record that defines:
- Search terms - e.g.,
paint,Wood filler - Show products (promoted) - IDs of products that should be displayed preferentially
- Hide products (hidden) - IDs of products that should be hidden from the results list
Each record can have an internal name for easier management (e.g., "PAINT Results").
Usage Examples
| Query | Promoted Products | Hidden Products |
|---|---|---|
paint | 475380, MA4293, MA4301 | MA2505 |
penetration | 126789, 137604 | 138375 |
toilet paper | 140886, 135682 | 128446 |
User Interface
Overview
Displays a list of all curations:
- Internal name
- Terms
- IDs of promoted/hidden products
- Edit / Delete buttons
Edit Detail
- Left: List of promoted products (in blue panel)
- Right: List of hidden products (in red panel)
- Center: Fulltext search for selecting additional products
- Actions: Add/remove from panels by clicking on star or eye icon
Backend Logic
- When searching for a query (e.g.,
paint), the system checks if an active curation exists - If yes:
- Adds promoted products to the top of results
- Removes hidden products from results
